Esperanza Sessions - Crash Crash Crash

Hey Avid, any chance one of you fine folks could step in and fix the embarrassing ProTools crash-fest on the FaceBook Live Stream?

I think this is actually a watershed moment for an entire generation of music fans, young professional musicians, students, etc... Seeing ProTools continuously crash on a Live Stream of a Grammy Award-winning artist surrounded by some incredible cats, has probably implanted the impression that ProTools is simply not up to the job anymore.

Is this the culmination of years of outsourcing code-writing, software bugs that take years to fix (and still aren't), and putting shareholders at higher priority than users?

I've invested SO many years (and literally well over $200K) in ProTools and Avid hardware, but the birds-eye-view of seeing other Engineers struggling to get it stable on an important session causes me enough pain that I'm honestly wondering if this is a significant milestone in the exodus of young people from ProTools to other platforms?

Thoughts anyone?

I watched a bit of the stream. I saw one bit where the key commands stopped working for some reason. They restarted the computer and some of them came back, but not all. I have no idea what version they are using, or how up to date they stay at NRG. I've been doing this for a while. Things can happen, but she did finish her record 8 minutes ahead of schedule. Pro Tools is still the best tool that I know of for audio recording. YMMV.

When Pro Tools HD crashes, a restart is not enough, a total shutdown is needed .

Not many people seem to realise this.
