I have a Digidesign 003 - and suddenly - Core Audio is Not Coming Up in Sound Under System Preferences. So sound in Youtube videos & Itunes songs etc. can't be played out of my monitor speakers.

I get audio when I use Logic Pro - just not for the web / Itunes etc.

Any idea on how to fix this issue?

Same thing here. I formatted my MacBook and started installing everything. Snow Leopard and ProTools 8 (with 003 HW).... Now Digidesign HW is not shown in Sound preferences or Audio MIDI Setup. Any solution to this?

Probably you found the fix already. In my case i needed to update to ProTools 8.0.3.... early versions of PT8 dont work on Snow Leopard.
