Default Presonus Digimax... not bad

I went to go buy a Focusrite Octopre w/ADAT, and Sam Ash had a display model Presonus for $599, oh yeah I was all about that.

deffinatly get the Digimax
who care's if the octopre has better pre amps and if it has the limiting on it

the digimax has an excellent clock as i believe (bazzle or chris cavell) i dont
remember which one has checked it...
but the most important thing is that it has Inserts

And the second most important thing was that it was half the price

All things beign equal I may have opted for the Focusrite, but not at 2x the price.

What about the A/D convertion on the inserts??? How would you compare the quality of the converters against the 002???

Haven't really put it through it's paces yet, so I'll get back to you on this one. The 002 has good Focusrite pres, but my guess is that the digimax is on par.

The 002 doesn't have Focusrite pres.

My bad, I have my Control|24 on the mind. I have my 16 outs of my C|24 into the 8 for the 002 and 8 via the Digimax ADAT. Word.

The mic inputs on the 24 are Focusrite.

Guys that Digimax is and excellent unit. The pres on it sound great. Ive gotten great drum recordings out of it. Its really punchy. Its probably the best preamp for the price on the market. I highly recommend them to anyone. Ive turned buddys of mine on to them and they all swear by em now too.
