How to change entire Songs Tempo
I've recorded a Project. After listening several times we all agree the Tempo is to slow & we want to speed it up without altering the Key of the Song & the Pitch of the Vocals.
I've been on You Tube & Reference Guide trying figure out how to change Tempo of entire Songs using Elastic Audio. The You Tubes don't look like Pro tools 10 Edit Screen & I can't figure put how they are selecting all Tracks, changing all Tracks to Ticks, setting to Elastic Audio & selecting the right mode. Polyphonic is what I think it's supposed to be. I can't seem to find it in the Reference Guide either. All kinds of stuff about Elastic Audio but I'm not seeing how to change Tempos of whole Songs? I did manage to change Tempo but not all the Tracks were syncing. Some were ahead or behind? Appreciate your wisdom all! Thanks, Lars |

Re: How to change entire Songs Tempo
Hi Lars
IIRC all tracks need to be in tick mode (elastic audio) and the increase the tempo and all tracks should move with the tempo.

Re: How to change entire Songs Tempo
Turn on Elastic Audio for each track by choosing the algorithm that best suits the tracks content. Then make sure all tracks are Tick based not Sample based. Option clicking will help here. Once analyzed, all tracks will change as the tempo is changed.

Re: How to change entire Songs Tempo
All Tracks don't have to be Polyphonic, Monphonic or whichever. They can be different as long as as all are in Tick mode?
Not sure I'm selecting all Tracks correctly? I Hold Command then Click a Track & they all light up. Is that right? Thanks, Lars |

No, Option click Tick Based for do to all. Algos you'll want to do more carefully, possibly on a track by track basis. |

Re: How to change entire Songs Tempo
Also I suppose you could just bounce the track down..... import into pro tools...and use audiosuite/pitch shift/time shift
You would probably get better results with the method above but it may help you decide on the correct tempo quickly |

Re: How to change entire Songs Tempo
I did it! What a cool feature!
But, I had manually change each Track to Tick. Isn't there a way to select all & change all the Tracks to Tick at the same time? Thanks, Lars |

Re: How to change entire Songs Tempo
Not at my system to test, but I think it's what Drew is telling you, option + click 'Ticks' = changing all (guessing as long as all tracks are selected)
