Default XMON signal charge while quitting Pro Tools

While quitting Pro Tools or Digi CoreAudio, there is a loud spike in the speakers.
The mute on the Dcontrol does not affect the noise it can be mutted and still come through.
Selecting a diffrent input on the controller does not affect the spike either.

Can anyone help?

Can you tell us a bit more about how your setup is wired ?

Are the speakers hooked up directly to the X mon or through a patch ?

Is it always the same speaker that produces the spike ?

if so ... how about for testing purpose hooking up another speaker to that same output to determine wether the problem actualy comes from the Xmo output or from the speaker.

I'm thinking the problem may also come from of your interfaces .... you could try to hook up a set of speakers directly to the interface (careful you don't send any signal through without attenuation on them).

You should be able to narrow down things first a bit to see where exactly the spikes are coming from.

A few other things :

- does this also happen when you load PT and then immediately quit without loading a session first or only after you've loaded a session.

- fwiw ... trash all PT related prefs (digisetup / PT prefs) and all digi database files on your different drives to make sure those are not the cause.

Hope you ca sort it out easily ... it shouldn't be happening that's for sure.
