Default BUG: Wrong time-stamp when draging from finder

When draging a BWAV from the finder onto a track in spot-mode PT will show a random original time-stamp.

That sounds like a real problem!

Frank -

How do you know the timestamp is random, exactly?

Can you give us an idea of the process you're using to determine this?

Grab a BWAV from the finder and place it onto a track. Make sure spot-mode is enabled before that. When you let go of the mouse the spot window will pop up showing the TC where you dropped the file as original time-stamp instead of the correct stamp from the meta-data so it´s not really random as originally posted but the original-TC field it not correct.

Solution: Hit cancel and click the clip again then your correct stamp will be available in the original-stamp field.

It would be great if this would be the case right away. It doesn´t happen when draging the same file from the workspace.

Thanks,

Frank.

P.S. In my case I´m draging 16bit BWAVs to a 24bit-session (BWAV) so maybe the bug only happens in this case.

Thanks for the report - I was able to reproduce it (though I got an 'out of range', rather than an incorrect time-stamp) and will log it for a fix.

Not really the same "Bug" although if you have a sound file with a time of day timecode stamp of lets say 18:00:00 and your session setup start time is at 1:00:00:00 when you spot the region onto your timeline it will show a incorrect time code value in the spot region window. This can be confusing and bad.
I guess this happens because a proools session can only 12 hours, so if the session start time was at 1hour and the sound file you were trying to spot in was at hour 18, the spot window is confused and shows a wrong timecode value.
I do not know what can be done to deal with this but some sort of fix would be nice.

Thanks!
