Playback Stutter + Static in Pro Tools M-Powered

Hello,

I am running Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0.3 on Windows XP. I recorded about 10 tracks of audio recently in a session, but in playback I get a strange stuttering of the audio where it goes in/out randomly on mainly the drums track (stereo), and then generates very loud bursts of static. I'm not sure if this is a memory issue, I have 2 gigs of RAM which I'm sure is enough, but it is definitely an internal playback issue as the audio regions are free of these problems when played by themselves in another program such as Audacity.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like your latency settings need tweaking. Try a higher number.

This is a known issue that is being looked into by AVID.

I had exactly the same problem and removed 8.0.3 and replaced it with 8.0.1 and now things seem to be okay.

Ok, I might try that. Hopefully this will be resolved in a future update.

Try replacing your hard drive cables, the stutter might be lack of data transfer..
