Default Multiple MIDI interfaces with PTLE...

Here's a thought...

How about using 2 MIDI interfaces.(DIGI 001 box MIDI I/O excluded)
...First for the 3 motormixes (serial)
...Second for keys and modules (usb)

If I purchase the Digi 001, I will be using 3 motormixes, 3 MIDI input devices and 5 MIDI sound modules.

The question is...would using separate MIDI interfaces solve any timing problems that might occur during a session? Also, would Protools LE recognize both interfaces simultaneously?

-Since Windows manages all MIDI data in and out of the computer, the quality of performance would depend on how well the drivers were written and how well all the MIDI drivers cooperated in the system. In addition, parallel/serial MIDI interfaces tend to yield better results (this goes for both Win98 and Mac OS).

-Pro Tools will recognize any MIDI interface which use drives that adhere to the MME standard (most do). In other words, if the driver is listed in the MIDI Devices list (Control Panels>Multimedia>Devices window), it will be available in Pro Tools.
