I'm sorry, but the original author wanted to hook up with a mastering engineer.
Some of the names thrown out there are in fact world class - how are those not real world options? Maybe a bit pricey for some, but none-the-less, they are some of the best and worth every penny.

As I said in my response, you get what you pay for. When someone has an original Fairchild 670 some Pultecs, and $20,000 in monitors as part of their mastering chain, it makes a difference. Heck, darn near everyone who posts in the DUC could master with Pro Tools.. and most of us have.. but there's a huge difference between the skill set in recording and mixing and the hardware and skill set you need in professional mastering.

And most of those listed will work with an Indie client on pricing.

Sterling Sound, one of the world's top mastering houses, has a program called "After Hours" which uses the apprentices that are learning under the senior engineers to do the mastering at a discounted price. You might want to check that out at sterling-sound.com.

Don't forget Mworks in Cambridge, Ma. The list of clients is almost endless. I won't even bother to list them....you know who they are.

If things don't work out with Tom,
you can always try Jerry Tubb and Terra Nova Digital Audio in Austin, TX. They've done my last four projects and have an extensive client list from Willie Nelson to Tres Latin Trio to Steely Dan. Very professional and very reasonable. They also do everything from CD's to Surround Sound and TV, radio and film.
