Is it even worth it

I was looking into getting a new mac I am currently using a MDD powermac g4, i was looking at the 1.8 g5 tower what advantges would it have over my g4 besides the g5 processor. My boy says my g4 is running protools like a champ which is true but latley she's been acting wierd on me I've only had it for a year or so. But i just want som of your opinions on the g5, I don't want an Imac either because of the upgrade issues like memory, harddrives, i plan on shooting an independet movie and, three music videos in a couple of months. Would the sp g5 be a workhorse like my g4.

Well ProTools only used one processor anyway, so I've read for so long in these forums, so you may not take a hit. However, if you use any rewired apps like Reason or Live along with PT, then I'd stick with dual processors. If I were you I'd hold on until you can afford a greater increase in performance. Wait at least until you can get a dual 2.0 G5. Then you'll really see a difference.
