Not a priority however possible

Heck use the HDN card as a dongle and code it natively

Bam done customers happy! Move on to the next project

Agreed. I mean A+ GREED.

I was just on Gearslutz reading about UA's new Console 2.0 and was pleased to see a UA employee chiming in answering questions. This is on a forum they don't control. Here on the DUC, we get told Avid employees don't read this forum by moderators who then scold us for our "bad attitude".

The contrast says it all…..

I don't have a bad attitude about UA. I wonder why???

Best….H

You didn't buy any of the TDM plug-ins that they orphaned. Avid/digi has never left their customers hanging like that.

That's great but hardly enough to qualify as a company that is driven by creative innovation. That is what makes a customer base feel exited by a company and stay loyal to it. The very basic concept that everyone wants something and if you have what they want they will give you what you want is, unfortunately, being completely ignored here. This is not rocket science, this is basic logic.

Maybe logic for hobbyists but not pros who are mostly concerned with getting the weekend off.

Default Will Heat ever be HDN?

Everyone wants the weekend off...and the weekend starts about 3pm on Friday :)

But I think werner is right UA really listened to its customers with the 2.0 release and avid doesn't really (at least even appear to) and don't plan on caving on a bunch of their new ideas (they have a plan and don't care what you think about it, get on the bus or get left behind, (perception mind you, only my perception)

And please don't tell me that only pros use avid and not UA......

I would love the weekend off but rarely get that chance as I am concerned with making a living and that takes what it takes. I give the Bands and Labels the record that they want and they give me money in return. That is one example of the basic logic that I am talking about. This company is not making any of us feel secure in the fact that we can continue to make a living with their product because they seem to be arrogantly unaware of this basic concept. Their dominant market share is a rapidly declining situation and arrogance quickly turns into desperation. Maybe it's not too late but I would be surprised to see any change in attitude or behavior. Hope does spring eternal though.

Agreed. I strive to give my clients what they want but when the tools I'm using get in the way I end up apologizing and losing further work from them. It's why I give clients longggggg delivery times up front and tell them why it's so. People who are willing to put up with that are getting to be few and far between now.

I think Avid is run by the same people that run the Grammy's and Rock and Roll Hall of Shame (Fame) in Cleveland. People who want to profit from the music industry but don't have idea one of what makes the industry tick or what people really want.
