PT 10/11 HDX in Magma EB3T and Mac Mini
My system consists of:
PT HDX with latest firmware / Mac Mini running OSX 10.9.3 / Magma Expansion Chassis 3T My status is: HDX hardware shows up in the Coreaudio Manager and HW setup. HDX hardware shows up in the mac system prefs. HDX hardware shows up in the Audio Midi Setup app (with 64in/64out) My issue is: Once PT 10 or 11 is started, the HDX hardware is not available as a playback engine. When hardware tab is selected and audio midi setup is launched, the PT hardware appears suddenly to have 0in/0out. I have tried trashing prefs, re-installing the HD drivers etc. Nothing seems to work to make the HDX hardware show up int he playback engine dialog. Please help. |

Make sure your Mavericks sound is set to internal not ProTools.

Re: PT 10/11 HDX in Magma EB3T and Mac Mini
I tried that. Did not work. HDX still is not available as a playback engine in both PT 10 and PT 11 despite showing up in both AMS and Avie Coreaudio manager.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: PT 10/11 HDX in Magma EB3T and Mac Mini
I'm a little confused here. If you're using the HDX system for Protools, it is irrelevant whether or not it shows up in Audio Midi setup, as that has nothing to do with it. That makes it sound like maybe you are trying to use it simultaneously with something else, which is not possible.
I don't know if you've tried this, but try holding down the "N" key as you launch Protools. See if it then shows up as an option. Assuming this works, you won't have to hold down the "N" key normally. Only when you go to a new computer, reinstall Protools, or reformat your system hard drive. |

Re: PT 10/11 HDX in Magma EB3T and Mac Mini
Yes - I guess AMS doesn't mater. . .but I checked there just to see that the hardware was recognized by the computer. Plus that is where the aggregate I/O is configured.
I tried holding down N, and it is still not an option. Not sure what to do here short of a clean install. . .which seems like overkill since this is a system that a lot of people are using successfully. |

I did it again. Just installed an SSD opened PT and HDX was a no go. I forgot to download the drivers!
