Default Re: Multiband Processors

If you're looking for a very clean multiband processor for things like mastering, the Waves LinMB (part of the Platinum and Mastering bundles) is the way to go. I've never heard a more sonically "pure" multiband processor, and you can do amazingly radical amounts of processing without the audio sounding really "bad".

For more "effect" type processing, either the earlier Waves C4 or the McDSP multiband compressor would work. My nod there goes to the Waves, mostly because the user interface is much easier to deal with (I played with the demo of the McDSP processor for hours, and never got comfortable using it and also never got the kind of sound I was looking for...where with the Waves C4 similar tweaking was accomplished in a few minutes). Compared to the LinMB, the C4 imparts more of its own sound to the audio, and if you try extreme amounts of processing the sound gets more unpleasent than a similar amount of processing with LinMB.

There's my take, hope it helps...

What kind of processing do you want to accomplish? Limiting, compression, EQ?
