Default Error installing required components...PT 11

The next part says "Run the application as the user that installed it and enter the Administrator password if requested."

This is my B rig and 11 stops there every time. Thoughts?

Are you launching the application as the user that installed it? Does that user have administrator privileges?

Yes. I'm the only admin. That was what was odd. Even ran the admin "enable root user" without success. Very odd. My MPBr is fine! This is a 2011 Spring MBP so that may have something to do with it? 10.3.6 is working fine.

exact same problem here on my Harpertown, running Lion 10.7.5 with 16gb of ram.
I am the only user/admin with no admin password set at all.
I tried installing twice.

Use Disk Utility (/Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities/) to Repair Disk Permissions on the Macintosh HD. This might be a case where that process will be helpful.

Repairing permissions and trashing them did nothing. I even tried another install after fixing permissions. no change. The same message comes up.

Thanks,
-Chris

I think we both know that Harpertown and my MBP were not tested, but I have heard good things about them working with others.

When that error pops up can you move it so you can tell me what the status of pro tools is?? like is it loading plug-ins or initializing anything?

Also as a test if you make another admin user and launch Pro Tools using that account to see if you get the same error.
