Default Access Violation when Editing - Also Slow Plugs

I'm getting an access violation when editing a drum group... but not all the time. I setup an edit group for the toms and while trimming and fading all the graphics on the sreen will suddenly go screwy. I can still Save via Control+S and can exit the application by right clicking on the Pro Tools button on the taskbar. Then I reboot the machine to be safe. I'm running the stock plug-ins that come with an HD2 Accel system along with some of the Massey plugs (CT4, TD5, and the L2007). The plugs inserted on the tom tracks when editing are the Digi EQ III and the Massey CT4.

Also, some plugs take a few seconds to load up. Like Voce Spin (for exaxmple) can take 5 seconds to show on the screen. Is that normal? Then again, some plugs load in under 2 seconds.

My setup:
Dell Dimension 9150 (Intel Dual Core, 945p chipset)
Windows XP Home SP2
3 GB RAM
Pro Tools HD 7.3 (not sure what CS level I'm at. I just installed via the 7.3 disc that came with my system)

Any ideas? Anyone else have this happen? I'm not 100% sure that the 945 chipset is tested for HD and I'd be willing to get a new machine IF this is the problem. We bought the 9150 when we had the occasional use for LE. Now we're HD all the time and the LE is no more!

Make sure that you're using the latest versions of all plug-ins. Access Violations are typically due to having incompatible plug-ins installed.

Gotcha! I know I have the most recent Massey plugs (I *just* bought and downloaded them) but is there an easy way to update the stock plugs that come with Pro Tools? May I assume that the CS releases and even 7.4 will have the most up to date stock plugs? Then what about updating the HD Pack (HD2) and the Ignition Pack 2?

What about the slow loading of the plug-ins?

Thanks for your help!

...forgot...

And what about the Dell Dimension 9150 with the Intel 945p chipset?

Thanks again!

The slow loading is probably due to the same problem - incompatible or outdated plug-ins installed.

I installed 7.3.1 cs 5 and Quicktime. Things have improved. All I had last night was a sudden lock up. Pro Tools froze.

As for incompatible or outdated plugs again... I am STOCK on plugs *except* for the Massey plug-ins and those are brand new so I have the newest versions. Is there an issue with the Massey plug-ins that I don't know about?

Also, please answer the question about the Dell 9150 and the 945p chipset as well as the best way to check if the stock plugs are up to date.

Although it would have been nice to know the answer, never mind the 9150 questions... we just got a great deal on a Precision 690.

My questions on how to know if your STOCK plugs are up to date still stands though.
