Default Best free compressor?

Hi Gang,

I have the three free compressor plug-ins that have been provided through Digidesign. The first is the Digi-Rack Compressor that came with ProTools LE, second is the Bomb Factory BF76, third is the Dynamics III Compressor/Limiter.

I was wondering if anyone has an opinion as to which compressor tool is the best of these.

Thanks!

There is really no answer to this. I personally use all 3 all the time, as well as many Waves, and other plugs. It really depends on what you are trying to do. They all sound very different, thats for sure. Try them all and see which ones fit the song/application best.

umm.. yeah its kinda personal preference... but the digi-rack compressor doesn't raelly have any characteristics to it.. so its only good for leveling off a signal... The New Dynamics 3 compressor is the same way.. but it has alot better features and i tink it tones it a little bit. The BF76 sounds very good on jsut about anything... And it trys to emulate the tone given off by the 1176... and apparently does an ok job.. so.. if ou are looking for somethign to "Beef up" our vocals or instruments.. the BF76 is the way to go.. and if you are jstu looking to be able to control your mix more without alot of sound coloring.. then the Dyn 3 or Digi-rack comp is he way to go... Atleast tahts how i see it...
