Default Anyone- help on analog recording delay problem

Strange new problem: recording vocal through Joe Meek Pre, then Line Out to Analog Line In #1 on 002R_getting unwanted slap effect on input as well as in record into PT LE 6.9. On playback, it goes away. Tried toggling Auto and Input Only Monitor with no result. Tried the 002R headphone out as well as external source through SPDIF out with no change. Everything else is working well. OS 10.6.9 (like I said, believe it or not, everything else is working fine), Apple Powerbook 12" w/MAX RAM and 1.2G Processor. No effects plugs on the Vocal channel. Other inputs?-same problem. Please help. Thanks.

sounds like an insert effect on the track you are monitoring or you have a send going out that has more latency. Disable all inserts AND sends on that track to find the problem one. You will also hear a slpaback if you are monitoring thru PT as well as thru a mixer due to the latency. Plug the phones into the 002R, turn on Input Only monitoring and see if it is corrected.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry about the finances. If you read carefully, I mentioned I did not have any sends (fx) on the channel at all. I also mentioned being in Input Only mode while headphoning through the 002R, with no success. Thanks anyway.

Are you new at this? Try reducing your H/W buffer size - you may just be hearing normal latency, which goes up with hardware buffer size. Small buffer = low latency.

Lowest latency is using the Low Latency Monitoring setting, but it's got some

OS 10.6.9 ???---

If you mean 10.3.9, then you must have Not read the 1000's of posts that 6.9 does not work well with 10.3.9.

I use 2 JMeek V300's to record Live, and hook it up exactly as you described with fabulous results, and with 10.3.8 with 6.9.

make sure that you no sends on a thru e. Sometimes sends are hidden if your in Assignment view and you could have a send you forgot about. Change the sends view to assignments instead of a letter assignemnt.
