HDX as Engine for Ableton Live and Logic
Hi there,
if you want to run Logic and Ableton Live on the same machine as PT HDX can you use the interfaces in a similar way than you could with HD Native where the HD engine is just coreaudio?

Re: HDX as Engine for Ableton Live and Logic
Maybe someone with expertise could chip in here but my guess No.
The way Avid gets that low latency performance with Pro Tools is by not using Core Audio at all when in Pro Tools. Once Core audio is in play you get more latency because of it's safety buffer. So it's important to understand that the specs and full power of HD systems can only be achieved in Pro Tools. I don't know exactly how bad things get with Core Audio but for optimal performance with HD systems you are stuck with Pro Tools. |
