Default 192 I/O Output trims: amount of amplification

Hi,
the manual of the 192 I/O does not tell how much amplification or level reduction is possible with the output trims. Can you tell me?

Best

Nobody knows if the manual does not tell you. But at least it is enough to trim to 20/18/14

Thanks Janne,
I installed a new monitor controller a specialist designed for me and it gets too much level from 192 I/O for a sensible control range. I thought the trim controls could help. Your answer tells me the trim controls have at least a 6 dB range. I'm still interested in a precise number, if someone knows...

I don't know why this bothers you because if the trim is enough to calibrate between -14 to -20 then it is all perfect, right?

No, it's not perfect for me...
I need to know how much dB the trim controls can lower the level. I want to turn the knob of my monitor controller a little more before the maximum level my ears can stand is reached. Do you know what I mean?
If the trim controls can't help we need to modify the monitor controller. That's why I'm asking...

I know what you mean.

But what I meant was that the knob -- as far as I have understood this -- does not actually boost or cut anything, but instead adjusts the reference level that shows in the software.

Probably I am wrong because PT11 has tweakable levels, which to me sounds like my last sentence is false information. I will need to investigate this further.

Anyway, most important thing is that you never clip your signal. Even if your gear had a soft limiter or whatnot, please do not trust that and do yourself a favor by staying in the green.

the max output of the DA card at level of -14 referenced to 0vu ( @ 0vu=+4dB ) it can be adapted for a -10dB ( U/B ) signal

who was it that said that know body could know if its not in the manual

I fix and modify these cards every single day of the week

if you get to much level still than follow the manuals guidelines for a -10dB output

for any U/B output signal or -10dB disconnect all the low side connections from your DB25 output connector

the DA output is not a true balanced signal rather it is 2 separately buffered driven outputs with out of phase signals ุ ( -180ฐ )

also NEVER EVER hook the DA output to any unbalanced input or it will damage the card ( it is indicated on the DA card rear panel in text )
