Urei 1178

Okay - we all know about 1176's but what about an 1178? Pulsar has released an 1178 which they say is a stereo (2 channel) version of an 1176 but with slightly different circuitry. I have other Pulsar stuff so I know their quality. I'm not asking about that but 1178? Anybody know what's up with that?

I remember reading through that thread at the time as I didn’t know much about the 1178.

Definitely not a stereo 1176 going by people’s experience with the unit.

Thanks for the link bro. Not nuts about opamp input stages. Unless they are built with fet's or tubes (which can be done).

My reaction to reading this is WHY? The 1178 always sounded like a giant step down to me.
