Wow. This could mean the end of Nuendo support on Euphonix or new "icons" from Euphonix without the HUI-restrictions.

Interesting move.

wow, cool move on Avids part... some of the euphonix stuff looks great but the HUI limits it greatly... guess we are gonna see some interesting stuff in the next year!

I own a Euphonix MC Mix.
As a Pro Tools user, I'm I'm guardedly optimistic that more PT specific features and EuCon support will be implemented and will work properly. There are many long standing bugs in PT8 that have not been fixed for months and months and months. (Delay Compensation, Midi Timing, Firewire device incompatablities, DAE errors to name a few.) Hopefully, Avid will dedicate enough resources to make PT work properly soon.

As a Logic User, I am concerned that Euphonix support and implementation will suffer.

Strong move, I don't know that much about controllers for Cubase and Logic, was Euphonix the only serious option for these programs?

In all likelihood, Euphonixs would have closed shop had Avid not interceded. Even the most seemingly stable music/recording software and hardware companies are currently under some pretty serious duress in the current economy. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more of these happen in the coming year or two.

In the meantime, I think this is a good thing. Avid will be buying some solid technology that will begin to appear in its product line. Euphonixs will, on some level, stay in business, contributing to a broadening Avid product line.

I think this is a win for everyone vs. Euphonixs gone totally.
