Re: Stereo instrument tracks. Why?
I think he's just using them as controllers. He's gone back & forth on the DX7 for a long long time.
You're right about the Phatty, he's been using one of those for the leads on Tom Sawyer and Subdivisions, and below that he's been using a Roland Fantom as a controller for all of the samples that live in the rack offstage.
