Default Anyone usinf Kontakt 2.2.1 with sucess on Intel/RTAS?

Kontakt is a complete Dog for me in Pro Tools. I can barely load five voices at the highest buffer setting before I get the dreaded (operations held off ya da ya da)

I am running a Dual 2.66 with 4 gigs of RAM.
OSX 10.4.9 and Pro Tools 7.3.1cs3
The samples are on a dedicated drive.

I have endlessly done the troubleshooting tips except for spotlight which I am unable to live without.

Is it just me?

I have done hardware tests on the Mac and it seems fine. It works great in all other applications.

My other possible option would be to get a second Intel Mac and use Kontakt as a standalone with an RME interface. Has anyone done this with success?

Kontakt is a tool I can't live without and I need to get something figured out ASAP.

Thanks

Paul

i actually gave up on using kontakt in PT completely and resorted to running logic to do any work in contact and then exporting the audio so i could use it in PT

More Ram (better then streaming) and check for ecc errors on the ram you have (check-about this mac-memory) I have the same set up and Kontakt has been a great (although slow/awkward interface) to run my sample library. (also check that your PT is in 3 processor mode and not all four) Lastly, run Kontakt in stand alone mode check and see that it noticed the multiprocessors in it's pref page.
N.I. seems finally to really have there act together with everything PT except Kore. Hopefully when the new Kore 2 comes out I can finally realize the power of that as well. I have easily run over 100 voices in Kontakt. Don't fret, it's the only real option right now for Intel-Mac and it does work well.
