Default Naming disk file

Hey guys. I am not sure if this a pref somewhere obscure or I am no longer able to rename the clip and ultimately changing the file's name on the disk.
When I go to rename, it only shows "Rename Clip".
Any ideas?
Cheers

as I remember you have to be on the master clip (whole file clip)
sub clips have always been clip only as long as I can remember

Hi Craig, yes I am supposed to be on the parent clip, as it is the whole complete recording without edits.

When I copy, say, an edited VO track to another track, then process that track using a plugin such as EQ or Gain or other it creates a new whole file. Used to be I could double click on that whole file in the timeline and give it a new name and it would appear in my audio files as a whole file with the name in bold font.

That no longer happens, the renamed file is named as a clip and does not appear in audio files as a separate clip I can export or upload to someone else as used to happen. This began when I was using v12.5.2 and after I'd been using it for years.

Now I have to sift through the clip list, find the previous whole file (usually with a eq_01 suffix, say) and rename that through the pop up.

What changed to make what used to be able to be done in the timeline to something that has to be done in the clip list?
