Default Input monitoring on armed tracks

Ok, here's something that seems to have changed with 7.3 which I liked a lot in 6.x:

I like to input monitor an armed ("record enabled" track) so I can still hear the voice talent
when playing back w/o recording. When I disable record, input monitoring should go away.

What I have to do in 7.3 is: click "I" on the track to enable input monitoring, arm the track. Disarming the track results in disabling input monitoring (if I set this in the preferences) which is what I want, but everytime I arm it again, I have to click "I" again to enable it which is kind of annyoing.

Any solution to this? Did I miss something?

Preferences: Record: select "Disable Input when Disarming Track In Stop". That should fix this.

Well, no. That was exactly what I was talking about: With this preference turned on, I have to manually enable input monitoring again each time I'm arming a track.

Oh I see - I remember than there was a general auto input or input-only option in the menu. Try this. Menu: Track: Set Record tracks to input only. Hope this is what you're talking about...

Or on keyboard Alt + k toggles between input only or auto input for all record enabled tracks.

Yes, they changed it and there is no way to get it back the way it was.

Still confuses me even though I know it.

Because it´s been so many years that the track was armed by hitting "R" and one gets used to these things,
that sometimes I´m still wondering why the singer doesn´t talk to me while I´m playing a take without recording.

On the other hand, now you can play the last take to the singer without having to turn "R" off, but there should
be a preference to have it the old way.

Cheers,

Martin

Since I always use only one record track and then shift the audio to playback tracks, that's not really a plus for me.

I'd really like Digi to bring back the old behaviour because I've been working like that for the last 5 years...!
