PT 11/12 upgrade advice

Hey guys, hope this is the best place for this post?

I'm looking for a bit of advice re the upgrade and when best to do it...

Here's my situation- I have licenses for both PTMP v7 and v8. I teach so I could potentially use the academic route to get the £85 PTMP academic crossgrade. Can I currently crossgrade to a permanent PT11 academic license that also allows me to download PT12 for free for when it's released?
