Default BFD: Instrument or Midi/Aux. track?

Just interested in what folks are using as a track setup when they use BFD or any other drum software for that matter. The first time I used it I went with an instrument track and it was great until I got to the end. I wanted to go back and do some velocity editing and realized it was almost impossible to edit because I had all the drums and cymbals on one track. Luckily BFD has the ability to let you automatically vary velocity. Is it better to use BFD on an .Aux and use midi tracks for each drum like we used to?

You should be able to have BFD on an inst track and still use other/multiple MIDI tracks to trigger it..

Right, I just meant using the one midi track that comes with the instrument track vs. multiple midi tracks.

An inst track is just a single midi track combined with an aux track, so I don't see how you are going to have more individual control over the individual drum sounds without having them broken out into individual midi tracks.. That's your goal, right?

I think I saw that you are still on Tiger so you're not running PT8 yet.. (I'm not either) PT8 has some interesting MIDI editing features, like having the controller lanes visible at the same time and the notes view, that might make it more convenient to edit the individual drum sounds, but I haven't tried it yet...
