Session won't start when pressing the Play Icon or space bar

This has happened before and I have to restart my computer to get back to normal. When I try to start the session and press the space bar the transport just starts blinking and won't start. Any suggestions?

For me, all I need to do is close Pro Tools and re-open. Never had to reboot Kind of tough to offer any advice when you give absolutely zero information on your setup

I'm running ProTools Version 2019.12.0 on a iMac (Retina 5K, 27 inch, Late 2015) Processor 3.2 GHz intel core i5 - 16 GB Ram

Does that give you a better idea?

Have you checked your OS version against PT2019.12 in the compatibility chart? I suspect there are tons of iMacs in use so I don't see any hardware conflict(***unless you have a Fusion drive***). Bob and I are both on Windows so maybe some Mac users can add to the conversation

That is certainly worth looking at(and I do, every time it happens). Sadly, that's never the issue for me

I Thought it might have been "Waiting for Sync" too, but after trying to disable that it still would not engage in play.

What *exactly* is happening in the transport window? What buttons are illuminated and/or blinking at what colors? Describe any blinking pattern.

What happens when you test with Built-In Output? And after trashing pref? And with a new empty session?
