Default Cakewalk+Sonar to Pro Tools....

Well I have been a Cakewalk user since 1996 then went jumped to Sonar up to Sonar X1....A friend of mine has always been an avid Pro Tools user far has I can remember...So a few months ago I came into some extra $$$$ and decided to purchase Pro Tools 10....What can I say except Pro Tools is freaking awesome and I can't believe I have been missing out on this all these years. It is so easy to use and I don't understand how people allow Pro Tools to scare them away because they think its hard...It's really not...Heck Sonar is hard to learn and Pro Tools is truly a cakewalk in the park.

So, I am now a Pro Tools man for life and have given my Sonar to my daughter to use so she can learn the tricks of the trade....

I agree, came from cubase and sonar x1 as well. Pro Tools, easy to use, more intuitive, I like it way better as well.

Welcome to PT and the DUC. I too migrated from Sonar to PT. Started with Sonar 3, then 5, then finally 8.3.1. I have never looked back. PT took a little bit of learning but with the right attitude you should do well here and with PT as well. Just remember that PT is a lot more finicky in hardware setup unlike Sonar.

PT does so many things better than Sonar ever could, especially in the editing and automation departments. Sound quality is better as well.

Just don't go looking for the equivalent of the Coffee House subforum that was on the Cakewalk Sonar forums - we don't play that game here. We generally tend to be better behaved than that. And the forum software here works unlike you know where
