Same basic I/O as the Digi 001 (at least at 44.1 / 48 KHz - the lightpipe doesn't work at 88.2 or 96 KHz).

Yes, you can do 88.2 / 96 KHz recordings on a Digi 002. It also is supposed to have better A/D - D/A converters. It also has 4 mic preamps (supposedly of much higher quality than the two in the Digi 001) and it also has a controller surface that is supposedly similar to a scaled down (fewer faders) Control | 24 in function and "feel".

It also comes bundled with about $2,400 worth of great plug ins. [img]images/icons/cool.gif[/img]

Other than the higher sample rate support, there's really nothing you can't "do" on a Digi 001 that you can do with the Digi 002 except for stuff like controlling several fader levels at once while mixing... and you can do that with a Digi 001 if you have some sort of a controller unit for it - like a CM Labs MotorMix or something.

The 002 is pretty much the 001 but in a tabletop firewire version with hardware motorized faders like the pro control or HUI. It has the same number of ins and outs as the 001, but it has four mic pre's instead of just two. It is rumored to have better pre's and convertors than the 001, but we'll see.

Bottom line, The 002 and a fast laptop will most likely be the ultimate portable studio. If you don't need the portability, get a logic control and a 001, much cheaper.

Logic Control will not work on the PC for anything other than version 5.X of Logic. There's no HUI emulation for the PC version. That's only available for the Mac. Sorry.

Oh... and you need to purchase Logic (and have the key attached to your computer) in order to use Logic Control with the HUI emulation for Pro Tools on the Mac.
