Default S6L and L-Acoustic LA4X AVB

Has anyone linked the S6L outputs to an LA-4X L-Acoutic amplifiers inputs via an AVB network?

Those amplifiers are said to have DSP card including an AVB listener supporting one AM824 stream at 48kHz or 96kHz that contains any number of channels comprised between 1 and 16 plus AVB STREAM MAPPING for input channel selection. Knowing that the S6L streams are 24 channels per stream, would this be compatible?

Would it "eat away" protools av. channels?

Hello Alain.. I will let some of the Avid folks jump on this but currently , third party AVB support (LA amplifiers ,PI processors, Meyer Galaxy, Etc) is not activated. I can only say that activating it is only one part of the equation as switch validation, system redundancy and appropriate topology (from engine?) goes along opening this

Bonjour Hugo,

Switch certification wise, isn't AVNU.org the certification authority? And the LA4X is on their list http://avnu.org/certified-products/

As for the redundancy, those amplifiers are set to have a fallback, either AES-EBU or analog.

Topology and assignability is a part that Avid has to figure out, but it would be a shame for Avid to miss the bandwagon, cause the S6L is otherwise a very good board that sounds well, with real nice features at an affordable price.

The only thing that is somewhat less pro is the physical layout of the stage racks (no guide rails for the cards, securing screws inside a C channel at the back where your fingers dont fit, too short ribbons connectors strips for the cards, meaning you have to unplug all the cards to be able to plug the previous ones in the stage rack).

It is about time to open up AVB support, but in order to get that right Avid has to get their own products certified

There are a lot of great AVB tools out there by now, affordable switches, everything you need!
