Default Combine digi 003 /w Focusrite Scarlett 18i6

Hello,

Does anyone know this? Would it be possible to use both my Digi 003 and my Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 in my PT 10 rig, by connecting the two with a lightpipe?

Thanks!

You would have to get all the inputs of the 1816 assigned directly to the ADAT output and connect that to the 003 ADAT input. No other scenario will work(I'm not sure the 1816 can do this). It may be possible within the routing software for the 1816, but the 003 would be the selected audio engine in Pro Tools.

Maybe the OctoPre Mk II(or Dynamic) would be a better choice(as it absolutely works with the 003 via lightpipe).

Unfortunately, the Scarlett 18i6 does not have a lightpipe output, only an input.

So you won't be able to use it that way.

However, you might be able to use the digital Spidf out, which would give you two channels that could plug into your 003 Spidf input.

But you would also have to verify that the unit operates in a standalone mode. I couldn't find anything in the manual about that.

As Albee said, you might look at the Octopre.
