Default Re: memory upgrade

Hmm ... was just about to upgrade to 512mb with my Asus CUSL2-C mobo and and Athlon 2600. So what would be the smokin mobo for, say, 1024Mb RAM when I up to 6.1?

Default memory upgrade

Yesterday I added another 512 of ddram giving me 733 or so...so my 'putor told me. I had 244 usable before...'cause the system sucks up some of it to run, right? Every once in a while while in protools my system would lock up...like while trying to read the reference guide, etc. Just a moment ago after my last reply, I did a test and opened PT while on the internet. It leaped into action.

Just glad...had to share...maybe too much childlike passion.

Smart move. With 6.1, I would now consider 512 MB to be a minimum "real world" amount of RAM. Users should consider more if they plan on simultaneously running a second program (Reason, second sequencer, whatever), lots of edits or plug ins / soft synths.
