Default MOTU midi express XT not seen by pro tools 11

Windows 8 Pro
Pro Tools 11
Project Mix I/O
MOTU midi express XT
Korg Triton Le
Roland V-Drums TDR4
Mother board: ASUS Z87-Plus
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K LGA 1150
RAM: Patriot DDR3 32 GB (4x8GB) PC3-15000 1866MHz
SSD: Corsair Neutron GTX 480 GB SATA 3
HDD: 2 x Western Digital 3 TB SATA 6GB/sec (network class)

I cannot get Pro Tools 11 to see the MOTU midi express XT.

I've downloaded & installed the latest driver from MOTU (i.e. SetupMIDI57483.exe ver 4.0.5.7483).

It's not listed under hardware (though I wouldn't expect that).

Under, Peripherals->MIDI Controllers: Type, Recieve From, Send To - there is no option to choose it.

Under, MIDI Studio Setup I have the Korg Triton Le set to Input Port: Port 1 on MXPXT [Emulated] and Output Port: Port 1 on MXPXT [Emulated] - I have the correct MIDI Out on Le connected to port 1 MIDI In on midi express XT and MIDI in on Le connected to port 2 Out on midi express XT. I have it connected correctly to thr TDR-4 as well. I've even tried switching all the connections for the sake of trying everything. I've set all the Send & Recieve Channels to on (e.g. filled in blue squres).

Under Input Devices - everything except Port 1 and Port 2 is listed. Well I guess that's because it's listed as Korg Triton Le and Roland TD-5.

i have an Aux track an Instrument Track (and even an Audio track) set up for both the Triton Le & the TDR-4. I have the latesr Superior Drummer in the Aux channe with input set to none and output set to out 1-2. The midi track input is set to KorgTritonLe and the output to Superior drummer aux track. It will not record the midi notes I play or play back.

Another problem is it will not play back the triton as a sound module.

Please someone help. I have been killing myself over this for weeks now.
