Control/24 going bad_I need to look into something else

My control/24 is on it's last leg.
My friend just got a new C/24 and she's having some of the same problems I'm having and it's only a month old even though her's is under warranty. It's too scary to jump to a new C/24.
I have a HD3 TDM system with a 192 blue face. Are there any other options for a control surface besides a C/24 that will tie into my system.
I was looking at the Artist Mix because it's cheaper but it doesn't have any inputs.
Any thoughts on this would be great.

what kind of integration do you want?
by inputs do you mean mic pres? if so you choices are limited to the C24 or a few of the HUI protocol units (but you can get some nice pres in those units)

If your looking for maximum control, you want a D-Control or a D-Command


Side note I think I know of a 24 fader D-Command for sale in a few weeks, it's and older blue unit but looks to be in good shape

Yes, I'm looking for pres and a controller. I think a D- Command will be a bit much but might look into this.
I was looking at the Artist Mix and like what I see but would have to buy at least a 16 input pre.

personally I don't like the fee of the build of the Artist stuff

if you want build in pres, both SSL and Neve make a control surface that has pres built in

personally I would go fro the best integration and get good outboard pres
the 8 channel PRE is good (better than what is on the Control 24) and it is controllable from Pro Tools/ICON or Artist surface (you'll need a MIDI interface)
Then add some flavor with an 500 series module rack

Ok, I think I may pop for a trade up option.
A Control/24 to a D Command but I can't find any info on this.
Is the option even available?

Hey Craig,
I'm going to hold off as long as I can.
I have some issues with my control/24.
3 - Jittery faders and main volume pot jumps in big increments also my headphone jack doesn't work anymore. I've been working around this and it's a real drag.
After reading that control/24 thread...well...I'm a little nervous now.
I've been looking at other options other than Avid.
