Default looking for a bigger interface for 16 track simultanious rec. on le 8

hey everyone whats up!i use pro tools le 8 on a p.c. with the m box mini 2 and i was wondering if theres a compatible 16 channel interface that isnt super expensive!right now i use 2 zoom 8 channel recorders linked together that records straight to an sd card and i import the audio straight into pro tools, the only drawback to using it like this is when i import the audio i have to find what tracks are what and sometimes its a pain in the rear!im wanting something i can just record straight into pro tools with atleast 16 channels, and from what ive read le8 doesnt seem very compatible with anything other than just a couple of their interfaces and i think the biggest one is 8 channels!hopefully theres something out there that can fit the bill!thanks!

Option 1 - PT LE 8 + 003 or 003R + an eight channel mic pre w/ ADAT out.
Option 2 - PT LE 9 or 10 + your choice of I/O(s).

Keep an eye out for deals on used 002s or 003s, and follow Bob's option1 (if your not ready to uprade to 9 or 10 yet)

All this is actually in the pdf manual. Basically, any 8 channel preamp that has a lightpipe output should work(at 44.1 or 48K). Patch the lightpipe from the preamp OUT to the 003 IN. Open a session and go to Setup>Hardware and choose Optical as the clock source(you may need to do this each time you first boot your computer on any given day or you will hear clicks and pops on the lightpipe inputs). Go to Setup>IO>Input tab and add the paths(or hit the DEFAULT button). Personally, I prefer to add 8 mono paths, click the little boxes on the grid and then name each input to something that makes sense(as opposed to ADAT 1, ADAT 2, etc)

Not that some units will be dirt simple to set up(like the Presonus D8) and others can be a bear to set up(Presonus FireStudio). The latter requires opening its own software and setting all the routing and clocking before you open Pro Tools Once its set, its all fine, but getting there may take an afternoon(so don't book any clients until its fully tested and working)

No can do. Pro Tools will only "see" one interface(the 003).
