Default Elastic Audio problem

Hi!

I have a problem with ElasticAudio on multible tracks.
I recorded a bass guitar, 4 tracks - 2 mics close to the amp, one room mic and one DI box. After recording i successfully time aligned the tracks to avoid phasing problems when i mix the tracks togehter.

Now here´s the problem. I wanted to correct some parts of the performance with ElasticAudio. So i grouped the tracks, activated EA added warp markers and corrected parts of the tracks. First i tried it with the monophonic setting. As long as i only activate the warp markers (so i did NOT move them), the bass sounds like before. But when i move one of my markers my tracks start to phase - AND not only inbetween my "edge" warp markers - the whole region phased! So behind the last marker too!

So i tried the rythmic algo - it was better, but not good.
So i deleted all analyzed warp markers and added manualy warp markers where needed. but it started to phase again...

please keep in mind that i don´t mix different takes together, all 4 tracks are from one performance, so (after time aligning) there is no phasing as long as i don´t use EA.

Any ideas?

Default Re: Elastic Audio problem

Well, i have never had success with EA on multiple tracks from the same source. Although many people on the forums rave about using it on drums or multiple mics, I just don't hear it. It phases far to much for my tastes. But I have used it on quick drums fills that go by so fast you can't really hear it.

As to your problem, two solutions I would recommend are, using beat detective on the 4 bass tracks (if it's not to far off time, this will sound the best), or blend (mix) and bounce the 4 bass tracks to one and then use mono EA to fix the timing.
