Re: Pro tools 12.5 is here!
I have a similar problem to the one discussed in this closed thread. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=375070
I have an academic copy of PT 10/11/12, but 12.2.1 is the newest version available to me for download from "My Products and Subscriptions" on my Avid account. Is there anyway to resolve this? I first discovered the problem when 12.4 came out. I was eventually able to get that but, if memory serves, that was via the Application Manager some days after the release. I am hoping 12.5 fixes my lag problem – when I use my external monitor with pro tools running on my 2015 Macbook pro, the user interface becomes unusable. When I unplug the monitor everything is dandy. Thanks!

Re: Pro tools 12.5 is here!
I had to roll back to 10.10.5 from El Capitan bc my mac hung every reboot. I am assuming this is resolved. Im doing my backups to get an install ready. I would like to flatten my macbook but too much stuff to redo that I would rather wait and see if a new beefier once comes out since my is early 2013 anyways. Has anyone done the upgrade of both PT12.5 and El Capitan back to back? Curious how that went. Peter

Re: Pro tools 12.5 is here!
I'm really hoping for some more composer-focused features like MIDI improvements, but I have to say that the collaboration workflow is a major leap for a DAW. This is a pretty massive deal and the world just got a little smaller.

Well. It started off great. After working for 5 hours. I'm back to where I was with 12.4... Tempo changes causing errors, unstable CPU.
I saw someone mentioning saving a pref file?

Do not install over 12.4 Period.
Windows 10 here running very stable so far. CPU usage does seem to be improved.

I full uninstall and use ccleaner. At the first run I create a empty project with my personal configuration (48 kHz, 24 bits, i/o stereo...) and configure the window positions, the transport to show all and loop. Then I insert a click track, play and listen if the sound is OK. I save it and close the session, quit pro tools. After that I start to use it. |

Re: Pro tools 12.5 is here!
Quite the opposite for me in Windows 7. I had all sorts of video engine problems in 12.4, all seemingly fixed in 12.5 based on the morning session, and no other hiccups. Optimistic that this is one of the good releases...

I'm needing to install it on my machine as well. Looks like 10.8 no longer has support. |
