Can't fix playback issue (Not another N key thread)

Hi, I'm an experienced PT user from many years now, but this is the first time that this happens to me.

Playback only starts where an edit selection WAS made. I have the N button unchecked, I have the Link Timeline and Playback checked, Dynamic Transport off, and it just won't start where I need to. Even when I press ENTER to go back to the beginning of the session, PT playback starts where the last edit selection was made. Anybody knows what is going on? Am I missing something obvious? I haven't trashed preferences yet, because I have never needed to. All these issues generally have a fix directly on preferences or PT menus but this time, I can't find it.

It's very frustrating.

Any thoughts?
