Default What soft synth 4 Hammond / EP

Hey All,

I am looking for soft-synth/plug-in suggestions (things people have used and like!) for standard Hammond and Electric Piano sounds. For reference, I currently use a hardware NIr, Kurzweil PC88 and Reason 3.0. I would like to expand the in the box stuff and get more versatility in tones than I have now from the hardware pieces. Anyone use the Reason retro keys refill? Almost seems to cheap to be good ......

Thanks in advance,
-Lee

Native Instruments B4 for virtual organ--sounds killer & i really like it because you can run it stand-alone

Be sure to check out the Scarbee EPs.

www.scarbee.com

I've got both the Rhodes and Wurli. The Rhodes isn't my personal favorite, but Rhodes is an extremely personal thing because there are so many different ways to set them up. His Rhodes is THOROUGHLY sampled, though, and it's an extremely accurate representation of that piano. It might be your cup of tea.

For me, Sarbee's Wurlitzer is killer, and I say that with no qualifications.

I'm currently using these things in Logic Pro's EXS-24, but there are other options.

If you're really going for accuracy, you really need these large and deep sample sets.

I concur... NI's B4 II is a great organ - really fits in nicely in the mix, and very powerful for both tweakers and preset guys. If you get the drawbar box, it's even better. I had to forget what the leslie actually sounds like in the room, and compare tracks to what the real instrument sounded like after recording it... NI really thought of everything.

Another vote for B4 II. It's amazing. And while I always thought the old B4 sounded great, it was harder to get it to sit in the mix. The B4 II is a big improvement.

FWIW, I think East West Soundsonline's Colossus has a great Rhodes. One of the best I've heard. And of course, there are a lot of other great sounds included as well.

What are opinions on the sound and features of NI's Elektrik Piano? http://www.nativeinstruments.de/inde...ektrikpiano_us
