Default Getting error AAE -6001 when trying to open session on Pro Tools 11. PLEASE HELP!!!

When attempting to open a session on Pro Tools 11 I receive "AAE error -6001 was encountered."

Pro Tools then crashes and generates a crash report.

Checked all connections and rebooted multiple times.

Searched on line for similar issue. Found some reference to issues with Pro Tools not interacting with Focusrite audio interfaces (associated with error 6001) Mostly regarding drivers and or settings for sample rate. Downloaded most recent drivers and insured that sample rate settings matched for the interface and the session.

Downloaded most recent version of Pro Tools (11.3)

Downloaded most recent drivers for DX.

I'm stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SiSoftware Sandra

Seagate ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB (1TB, USB3/SATA300/600, 2.5", 5400rpm, 16MB Cache) : 932GB (E:)

BIG problem.
Qualified Pro Tools drives need to be 7200 rpm. A 5400 rpm drive doesn't have fast enough throughput. Also, since it's USB, make sure you disable ALL USB power management.

Thanks for the info. I tried moving the session save point to my SSD. Same error, then PT crashes.

I read in another thread that someone was having similar crashing issues and solved it with a re install.

I did a complete uninstall and re install. Same issues.

Try holding the SHIFT key while opening the session. If that allows it to open, then you have a bad plugin. You would then need to do some troubleshooting to figure out which one, but you could probably eliminate all the stock stuff and concentrate on 3rd party plugins(make some active, save>close>open. Repeat until you find the bogus plugin).

If that's your system drive, it still won't work reliably. Although you stand a better chance of it working from an SSD system drive, all your sessions really need to be on a qualified secondary drive.
