Default AMS Rescan and Patch Name Problems

Two problems:

First, AMS doesn't show my Proteus 2000 when I choose "Rescan MIDI". I don't see any MIDI messages sent through my MBox 2 Pro. The connection is working, since the "Test Setup" will send data to the Proteus 2000.

Second problem: Even if I manually add the Proteus to the AMS, I can't change change the patch file for my MIDI track. I select "Patch Setup" and it shows "Patch file: none". I select "Change..." and then navigate to the .midnam file for the Proteus, but when the file selection dialog closes, the patch setup box still shows "none". None of the other .midnam files seem to work. I've checked permissions on the files and they're readable.

I can live without the AMS working right, but the lack of patch names is annoying.
