When is 5.1 released?

yes, when is the release, i've got a couple of new projects starting in the next couple of weeks and it would be a sweet thing to begin with 5.1 rather than jumping in half way through,

Although there is no firm date set, we hope to ship Pro Tools 5.1 by the end of the year.

The 5.1 TDM upgrade will be $295 US.

The 5.1 LE upgrade will be $50 US.

People who purchased a TDM / 001 /Toolbox system on or after September 1, 2000 will receive the appropriate 5.1 software upgrade at no cost.

Unfortunately, we currently do not have PTIII hardware working with our upcoming Pro Tools 5.1 release. Given the current time frame and programing/test schedules, PTIII hardware support will not be available in this initial release. We hope to be able to add single disk I/O PTIII support to Pro Tools 5.1 at a later date.
