Default Ok to go from 10.9 to 10.12?

Hi All,
I've posted this question on the Apple OS forum and was told it would work in going straight from 10.9 to 10.12. I do have full installs of 10.10 and 10.11 so I could go up in steps. Anyone try this before? Should I go up in steps or straight to 10.12? I'm using 2010-11 Mac Pro 5,1 Quad-Core running 10.9.5 with 16GB ram. Thanks!

Hey

You should go straight to 10.12 and absolutely waste of time and sanity to install all the between versions which will most definitely mess something up on your sustem, especially ElCrap so do a clean install of Sierra and update to 10.12.5 as thats what we use (not yet supported) but the changes did not affect PT whatso ever.

Best of luck and let us know how you fare

Two questions:
What exact PT version do you have? PT10 won't work properly if at all on anything later than OSX 10.9.5
Why are you going to a later OSX?
Advice: if you do the 'upgrade' to OSX and the version you're installing is just a root version do not use the incremental installers for the updates but rather grab the combo updater for whatever level you're going to.

I'm running 11.3.1 and want to go to 12. I'm planning to replace my MBoxPro2 with an Apogee Quartet. The driver support for the MBox seemed to stop with 10.9. Thank you.

The Apogee Quartet will run on OSX 10.9; actually as far back as OSX 10.6.8 and OSX 10.7.5. It's PT12 that's the driver here as 12.8 wants a minimum of OSX 10.10.5.
