Default Problem with plugin / send insertion during Playback

I sort of bounce back and forth between PT 9 HD on one drive and PT 10 HD on a 2nd drive, but mostly in 10 these days. In PT10 lately I was noticing that when I add a plugin or insert during playback, after the plugin or insert is added, playback returns the timeline location where I started playback instead of just continuing, which is annoying. Unless I'm totally spacing out and it's been working this way the whole time, I'm wondering why it doesn't just continue playing from the point in the timeline where the play head was when I added the plugin. Isn't PT just suppose to pause playback while the plugin/insert is added, and then just pick up from where it was? Is there a setting to toggle this? I don't see one at first glance...

Thanks for any tips!
