Default 12.8.1 Not in Application Manager
I'm not yet seeing 12.8.1 in Application Manager; my Upgrade Plan expires on 9/1/17, is this why?

Do yourself a favor and uninstall the Application Manager. And the Cloud Services, unless you use them.

No, if your Upgrade Plan is current then it should be showing the update available. Try...
  • Sync Account
  • Update your Application Manager (from the Apps tab or from the KB)
  • Clear Cache Files option in Preferences
