Can I now use my HD interace (Omni/HD IO) with PT Vanilla 12.6?

my understanding is that if you already own Avid Hardware you would be grandfathered in sort of speak ..

only new owners and owners of 3rd party interfaces need this new 299.00 one time license ..

No. HD/Digilink hardware requires a HD license asset to work at all.

You can connect a Avid Omni and Waves DLI and use it with Non-HD Protools - and it works very good.
and you can use any HD interface with Waves DLS or DLI

I didn't think that worked. How did you accomplish that? I have two licenses one HD and one Vanilla. Would be nice to have the iLoks be interchangeable, at least to some degree.

Read about "SGP mode" for the DLI.

With the recent changes to HD systems, it does make me wonder why they don't add HD hardware compatibility to PT Vanilla. Given the prevalence of UAD cards, even some kind of slimmed down HDX card that works with HD interfaces within Vanilla would be pretty amazing.
