Default PC BSOD with USB

This isnt necessarily PT related, but I am getting the BSOD with my usb devices when unplugging while the comp is on (safely unplugging).
The latest happened with my usb interface after I had to disable it to swap sample rate.
I disabled it via playback devices and removed it (ejected) via usb devices then when I went to turn off the interface it blue screened immediately.
This isnt specific to the interface either. This has happened with external drives, usb faubs for mice and controllers, ect.
Any ideas?

I've had some strange issues with the Intel USB3 drivers. I don't see what motherboard you're using in your specs, but there are two different Intel USB3 driver sets, be sure to install the correct one for your chipset!

May or may not help, but it's a good idea anyway. Go to Device Manager and scroll down to USB, and disable power management on every USB instance. This keeps the computer from shutting off the USB ports when it thinks they aren't being used.
Tell us about your hard drive situation, too. Didn't see that in your signature. Again, might not be related, but it's good to start with the obvious stuff that needs attention anyway.
