FYI, this workaround doesn't seem to work for me with the .BIG file in the default location. I'm using Mac OS 10.12.3 on a MacBook Air.

Some users have reported needing to restart after deleting the current plist and again after moving the older plist into prefs. Can you please try these additional steps for the workaround and report back?

One thing though, I didn't find the plist file in my user library. I did a spotlight search to find it. Still not sure where it was, but I was able to delete it, and install the new one which worked. Don't know why it wasn't where it was supposed to be.

The plist is basically a pref file and gets created/modified when needed. (That's the issue here - when the plist gets modified by Sierra it triggers the problem.) I was able to swap the 'old' plist in without restarting (Mac Mini i5 w/10.12.2), but others have needed that so I added it back in to the workaround.

I found out this week that we got the code needed so we are making progress here. Will update the bug report so please Follow that to be notified about changes.

All:

10.12.4 with PT 12.7.1- I too have the Mini Grand very short note issue. I've read this entire thread and the KB article suggesting to introduce an older plist file. I. have both my Sierra and old Yosemite drives mounted and can't find the file in the location as specified below:

Quit Pro Tools
Navigate to /user/Library/Preferences
Delete the com.airmusictech.Mini Grand.plist file

On my HD, the path Root/Users/MyUserName/ Does not contain a /Library/
Preferences folder. Nor is it under the Shared Users Directory

From Root/Library/Preferences I can see multiple .plist files - none of which are the proper file.

I have spotlight searched both drives and can't find the .plist file anywhere

Any Suggestions, thanks in advance

The plist is typically created as needed, so if there isn't one there then just start the workaround with copying the older plist to that location.

J, and all:

Myself being new to post Yosemite OS's - I didn't know that the only way I could navigate to the Library Preferences folder is from the GO menu while holding down the Option key. That revealed the proper path to remove the faulty .plist file and allowed me to copy the 3/22/2017 file from the Avid KB page.

Might consider adding that info to the page. Possibly there are other navigational methods to that folder, but darned if I could get there.

Just a reminder--in Sierra plist files can't be found unless you do the Option/Go/Library thing--you can't just do Go/Computer and navigate there any more. And the files won't show up on a Spotlight search.

I had the same issue with Sierra and Structure Free. You can check out the "Structure Free Update" thread for the workaround I came up with.

Or to show the user library folder permanently.

Thanks for pointing that out. Added info to step 2 in the KB article to help with this.
