Default Command 8 question / MIDI in and out

I'm just stepping up from an 002R to an HD system and have obviously lost the midi ins/outs I had on the 002

So I was gonna buy a cheap interface - I rarely use midi. I occasionally send a keyboard Midi Beat Clock and maybe record a midi track here and there

Cant I just use the midi ins /outs on the back side of the Command 8 ??

It's funny - I never see em and forgot they were even there ??

Will they work for basic midi stuff ??

Hi,

Command 8 works fine with TDM HD systems and the midi should also work fine! it will have to be connected as per normal command 8 setup, as a usb control surface.

Default Re: Command 8 question / MIDI in and out

I do this all of the time, and for the most part it works great.

I have had one issue though, and perhaps someone could help me here.

At times, the midi controller (keyboard) will hijack functions of the Command 8. I'm sure there is a simple workaround for this, but I'm pretty lacking in MIDI knowledge. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Cheers,
Ryan
